In Piraeus, renting a motorbike solves two problems at once: the traffic and the parking. The main roads around the port are among the busiest in Attica at peak hours, and finding a space in the centre is largely luck. On two wheels neither concerns you.

Our fleet covers the full range: from 50cc scooters that can be ridden on a car licence, up to motorcycles for longer distances. We deliver to the port, central Piraeus, and to Nikaia, Korydallos and Keratsini, free of charge.

Motorbike or scooter?

The distinction isn’t only about looks. A scooterhas automatic transmission, storage under the seat and a flat floor — more practical for the city and for anyone who doesn’t ride regularly. A motorcycle handles better on open roads and is more comfortable over distances above thirty kilometres.

If you’re mostly moving around Piraeus, the scooter wins nearly every time. If you commute into Athens or out to the southern suburbs, the motorcycle is worth the difference. See the options on the scooter rental page.

Practicalities

What to know before you rent

Licence by engine size

50cc needs an AM or B licence. 125cc requires A1. Larger engines need A2 or A depending on power. Riding without the correct category isn’t merely an offence: in an accident the insurance may not respond. Full detail in the motorbike licence guide.

Where 50cc machines aren’t allowed

Mopeds up to 50cc are prohibited on motorways and dual carriageways. If your daily route includes those, you need at least a 125cc.

Parking in Piraeus

Two-wheelers park in designated areas and, where there are none, anywhere that doesn’t obstruct pedestrians or vehicles. In the centre and around the port the signage is enforced — a parking fine on a scooter costs the same as on a car.

Daily or monthly?

The working rule is that from around ten days of use in a month, monthly hire comes out cheaper — and it includes servicing, insurance and the MOT. See monthly motorbike hire or the comparison in leasing versus renting.
