Once a group passes five people there are two options: two cars, or one nine-seat minibus. The minibus almost always wins — it costs less than two rentals, needs one driver rather than two, and if you’re travelling by ferry it means one vehicle ticket instead of two.

Importantly, no special licence is needed. A nine-seater under 3.5 tonnes gross is drivable on an ordinary category B licence. It simply asks for a little care with the dimensions, particularly in the narrow streets of central Piraeus.

Does nine people plus luggage really fit?

Nine people, yes. Nine people with nine large suitcases, no. With every seat taken there is room for roughly six to eight cabin cases. If you are seven and fold the rear row, full-size luggage fits comfortably. Tell us how many passengers and how many bags and we’ll give you a straight answer — we would rather you knew beforehand than at the port gate.

Use cases

Where it's usually needed

Port transfers

The most common use: a group or extended family arrives in Piraeus and continues by ferry, or the reverse. We deliver to the departure gate so you aren’t hauling luggage across a working port. See also our port pickup guide.

Day trips

For day trips out of Piraeus to Sounion, Nafplio or Delphi, a minibus works out clearly cheaper per head than two cars, and keeps everyone together for the journey.

Corporate travel

For teams that travel regularly — crews, sports squads, company groups — a monthly minibus plan costs less per day and includes servicing and insurance.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked

No. A D licence is required for vehicles with more than nine seats, or for carrying passengers commercially for a fare. For private use of a nine-seater under 3.5 tonnes, a category B licence is sufficient.
