Van rentalsolves three quite different problems: getting a family and its luggage to a ferry, moving furniture across town, and carrying nine people without needing two cars. Our van fleet is split along exactly those lines rather than simply into “small” and “large”.

We deliver free of charge to gates E1 to E12at Piraeus Port, to the city centre, and to Nikaia, Korydallos and Keratsini. If you’re arriving by ferry, send us the sailing and time and we’ll be at the right gate — a nine-seat van with luggage is not something you want to go looking for on foot in a working port.

Do I need a special licence for a van?

No, as long as the vehicle has nine seats or fewer in total — driver plus eight — and a gross weight under 3.5 tonnes. Those are covered by an ordinary category B licence. Every van and minibus in our fleet falls inside that limit, so no additional entitlement is needed.

The real consideration isn’t legal, it’s practical: a nine-seater is taller and longer than what you’re used to. At handover we walk you through the dimensions, the cameras and the spots in central Piraeus that need care. For a size-by-size comparison, see our guide to choosing a van size.

Use cases

When a van beats two cars

Travelling by ferry

Six people with luggage in two cars means two vehicle tickets on the ferry, two rentals and two drivers. A seven or nine-seat van costs less overall and is far simpler to manage, particularly if you’re continuing to an island. If you plan to take the vehicle with you, read what applies when taking a rental on a ferry first.

Moving house

For a one-bedroom flat, a five-cubic-metre van usually covers two or three runs. For a whole house, the ten-cubic-metre high-roof van works out clearly cheaper than repeated trips. More detail on the moving van page.

Trade use

If you need a load-carrying vehicle regularly, a monthly plan costs less per day than repeat rentals and includes servicing and insurance, without tying up capital in buying a vehicle.
